I have been the Organist and
Choir Director at Scantic Church since September of 1998.
Originally from New Bedford, Massachusetts, I had been
living in Connecticut for about a year when I first came to
Scantic. I began playing the piano at age 4, and
started my organ studies with Brian Roderick, during my
junior year of high school.
My home is in Stafford Springs, Connecticut
where I have lived with my
son Juan and my wife Theresa for the past 5 years, until she
returned to God in April of 2010. I am both a former
geotechnical engineer and piano technician. I recently
obtained my teaching certification in Mathematics and plan
to teach in the Connecticut public schools. From September to the beginning of
December, I accompany the Enfield Community
Chorus, which performs at Hazardville United Methodist
Church in Enfield, Connecticut, on the first weekend of
December.
I believe every person has a place in the music ministry of
the church; whether it be singing in the choir or the
congregation or playing an instrument. I encourage
everyone to use their talents to profess the Word of God.
Soli Deo Gloria!
Choir
The choir at the First Congregational Church of East Windsor
is currently comprised of a group of enthusiastic volunteers
who provide
musical offerings for our Sunday worship service and
additional services during Christmas and Lent. The
choir rehearses every Thursday night from 7:00 to 8:30pm
and meets at 9:15am on Sunday morning to warm-up prior to
the 10am worship service.
We have a lot of fun and encourage all to join us in
praising our Lord in song! If you wish to
join the choir, please
contact our Choir Director, Jonathan O'Brien, or just show
up for rehearsal any Thursday night.
